Masa (a.k.a. Masahiro Tateishi) and Papa grew up in Japan. Masa's parents always knew that he would be a great artist one day, and they were absolutely right. Masa studied art and illustration at Brigham Young University and graduated with a BFA in Illustration. Masa specializes in digital and traditional painting and illustration. He also does calligraphy, graphic design, and mural painting. His work has appeared internationally in museums, educational products, and children's books.

By contrast, Papa had too many dreams of what to become, including a sushi chef, a psychologist, a martial artist, and an animation/film director. But after also graduating from Brigham Young University, he settled on a career in software development. Various events of their lives led them to open their art studio in 2018. Combining their art, design, and technology skills, Masa and Papa create uplifting art and stories for people of all ages.

Fun Fact
In high school, both Masa and Papa were in the same art club. One of their first assignments was to sketch a sculpture, and they kept their sketches for more than 20 years! It's interesting to think that though they took different career paths, Masa and Papa now work together on art projects. Masa drew the one on the left, and Papa drew the one on the right.
